SAM

RBS-98 “Gokyuzu”

LONG RANGE SAM BATTERY

  • Introduced: 1999
  • Numbers in Service: 24 Batteries Each RBS-98 battery consists of a command vehicle, long range search radar, fire control radar, and 4-6 transporter-erector-launchers, each carrying 4 missiles. Maximum range of 170km, primarily defending against high-altitude bombers and ballistic missiles on the theatre level.

RBS-23 “Bakhs”

MEDIUM RANGE SAM

  • Introduced: 1998
  • Numbers in Service: 48 Batteries The Bakhs is a highly mobile, all-weather air defence solution designed to protect ground units, with a range of 20km up to an effective altitude of 15,000m, guided by Command-to-line-of-site, making it highly resistant to jamming.

SHORAD

LVKV-9040 “Triad”

SELF-PROPELLED SHORAD

  • Introduced: 1997
  • Numbers in Service: 140 Based on the CV90 chassis, the Triad features a PS-95 radar on the turret’s rear with a detection range of 15km, capable of tracking and aircraft and helicopters while moving. The Triad is armed with 1x 40mm cannon tuned for higher rates of fire (300rpm), and 4x RBS-70 Mk2 missiles.

LVR-206 “Kalkan”

SELF-PROPELLED SHORAD

  • Introduced: 1998
  • Numbers in Service: 200 Identical to the marine variant but with less navalisation, allowing it to be produced cheaper and quicker. Turret mounted on a PGB-203 chassis with RBS-70 missiles and a 25mm cannon.

LVB-206 “Kalkan”

SELF-PROPELLED SHORAD

  • Introduced: 1998
  • Numbers in Service: 78 The Kalkan, built on the AGB-200 wheeled chassis, features a turret featuring 2x 4 pod RBS-70 missiles, and a 25mm autocannon linked to an electro-optical sight and laser rangefinder, with the vehicle able to receive targeting data from mobile radars.

LVK-04 “Mantez”

C-RAM

  • Introduced: 1999
  • Numbers in Service: 16 Batteries A stationary, automated 35mm revolver cannon system firing AHEAD ammunition, primarily countering mortar shells, rockets, and low-flying cruise missiles.
