Royal Khaldean Naval Works
YDKK the YDKK is the jewel of Khaldea’s naval shipyards, being the nation’s sole builder of nuclear powered vessels. The YDKK built the entire fleet of Deriklin & Akhra class submarines throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, and is currently able to launch a new SSN each 24 months with both lines running, alongside a new carrier every 7 years.
Facilities:
- Nuclear powerplant production, allowing for fabrication and testing of naval nuclear reactors.
- 600x100m dry dock, primarily for aircraft carrier construction.
- Submarine assembly complex, can build two simultaneously.
Elkant Naval Works
EDY The Elkant yard is focussed on high-rate production of large, conventional surface ships, being the backbone of the surface fleet’s industrial power. It’s able to produce a new destroyer every 18 months, LHDs in 4 years, LPDs in 2.5, while also taking much of the burden for modernising and refitting larger vessels.
Facilities:
- Land-level transfer line for destroyer hulls.
- 2x Inclined slipways, for large vessels such as LHDs or LPDs.
Ortemm Marine & Composites
ODB The newest of Khaldea’s main shipyards, ODB specialises in composite materials, stealth technology, and alternative propulsion methods. The composite halls are able to complete a new corvette every 8 months, and an AIP submarine every 24 months.
Facilities:
- Composite fabrication halls, with two parallel lines for building hulls of the Kilij class.
- AIP submarine hall.
Regional Shipyards
Khaldea also boasts a network of smaller shipyards across the nation that hold contracts for naval projects, including the construction of auxiliaries and patrol craft, and fleet maintenance.
